I had an iPod Shuffle in the beginning of last year. I only use it for music. However, when they came out with the video iPod, I wanted to get one so I can watch all those tv shows that I got from bittorrent when I at work or on a bus or subway ride. When I get on the iTune store to look for music videos to download, I stumble to the free videos section, which includes the video podcast and stuff. Ever since then, I use my iPod for listening to podcast all the time. I rarely use it to listen to my thousands of songs from my library. Here's the list of podcasts I listen to...
- RFF Reality TV Radio - RealityFanForum.com Radio - Your source for Reality TV News. Rob & Trevor bring you the latest in the world of Reality TV. (These guys are funny. And they broadcast it LIVE on skype. You can send them instant feebacks while the show is running. They get really good interviews from some of the reality stars.)
- The 1UP Show - 1UP.com Video Podcast - 1UP editors report on the videogame industry and the community that surrounds it. The show is shot largely in the offices of 1UP and its affiliated magazines, and partly on location at press events and game shows. The show occasionally features obscure references to gaming culture. (It is funny. The people at the 1UP office have many good discussions about the games and got better interviews than other gaming sites.)
- 1UP Yours and EGM Live - 1UP.com Weekly Podcast - 1UP Yours is a weekly internet radio show that takes the form of a discussion among several editors from the 1UP network. They discuss current topics in the video game world. Topics include press announcements, news from gaming conferences, and also discussion of game design. EGM Live is also weekly and the editors of EGM discuss console gaming, headlines from the upcoming issues of EGM, and answering letters and emails from EGM fans and the 1UP network.(Just like the 1UP Show, but with a more detail discussion on those topics. The episode with Seanbaby is great!)
- Diggnation - Digg.com Video Podcast - Hosted by Kevin Rose & Alex Albrecht, former hosts of The Screensavers. Its main purpose is to discuss the top stories from Digg, the social bookmarking website developed by Rose. Diggnation won the 2006 Podcast Award for best technology podcast. (Since G4 ruined the Screensavers, this is THE place for fans of Screensavers)
- this Week in Tech (TWiT) - Tech News Weekly Podcast - former TechTV hosts Leo Laporte, Kevin Rose, Patrick Norton, Robert Heron, John C. Dvorak and many others in a roundtable discussion of the weeks big tech stories. TWiT has been ranked #1 on Podcast Alley, Yahoo Podcasts, and the iTune Podcast Directory, where it records around 315,000 downloads a week. It has also won two Podcast Awards: "Best Technology Podcast" and "People's Choice." (TWiT is only one of many podcasts from the TWiT.tv network. I also listen to Security NOW, Inside the Net, This Week in Media, and KFI Tech Guy. They all good.)
- DL.TV - By tech fans, for tech fans: product reviews, tech tips, viewer
questions, gaming and great guests, all brought to you by Patrick
Norton, Robert Heron and the DL.TV crew. Two new episodes per week. It's basically the Screesavers.
- ESPN Podcenter - Most of these podcast are usually soundbytes from the various ESPN Radio show that's on everyday. I listen to the Poker Edge, Mike & Mike, The Big Show, Steven A's show. Sometimes when i missed an episode of PTI, you can get the audio version there too.
- track-shun - A video podcast hosted by Chris Swett. He uses the track-shun system (thumbs up - thumbs down) to review the anime that are out right now on dvd.
- Rocketboom - a three minute daily video weblog, Monday through Friday. Some topics involve New York City, the arts, technology, internet culture, commentary on internet culture, commentary on commentary on internet culture, and so on. They got the new host, Joanne Colan, for two months now. It's a bit different when Amanda Congdon was the host, but the topics are still there which is just fine.
- The Circuit - CardPlayer.com's hit internet radio show. "The Circuit" is the only
place to hear tips, tales, and trash-talk from the tournament trail. It broadcast from all the WPT events and the WSOP.
Well, there are more podcast I listen to, but these are the ones I listen to the most. I am lucky that I don't have to worry about the boss standing behind me for like a mintue just to check on my productivity. Guess that's the only good thing about working in an office at midinight - 8am.
There's my list. Do you listen to any of these shows? What's on your podcast list?
